Sr. Manager – Global Manufacturing

Description:

Execute manufacturing strategies that ensure reliable, economical fulfillment of demand for custom refractive error correction.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a global network of in-country manufacturing facilities that provide reliable delivery to patients at a cost that supports sustainable models.
  • Lead and guide the development of manufacturing capabilities to support new OneSight programming globally.
  • Establish business processes for continual review of cost, quality, and service performance versus standards.
  • Execute projects to continually improve manufacturing performance
  • Manage third party manufacturing partners required to support in-country manufacturing.
  • Manage OneSight-controlled eyewear production.
  • Lead effective execution of manufacturing engagement for global and regional clinics.
  • Ensure effective, efficient production at mobile manufacturing sites (vision van, manufacturing pods, etc.)
  • Participate and lead as a full team member with clinic managers, product, and logistics functions to ensure excellent execution of all programming models
  • Lead teams through effective start-up of all in-country manufacturing facilities, including sufficient support from site preparation, set-down, technology, product, logistics, and other functions
  • Ensure proper training and skill development for lab technicians, in-country managers, and team members.
  • Be the subject matter expert for all manufacturing-related issues.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in product-related functions such as merchandising, planning, or operations
  • Master’s degree preferred (or equivalent experience)

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 30% travel may be required. Specific projects may demand short-term increase in travel.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10 years’ experience in optical manufacturing, prefer international experience
  • High degree of expertise in opticianry
  • Ability to work cross-functionally as required for manufacturing support
  • History of leading remote teams and handling cultural diversity
  • History of leading teams that focus on both internal and external customers

Work environment: The work conditions vary from office environment, where the noise level is usually moderate to a manufacturing environment where personal protective equipment may be required for eye and ear protection.
