Africa has been a source of incredible leadership and progress in OneSight’s goal to provide a long-term solution to closing the vision care gap. It’s also where we were able to prove out our sustainable model’s viability in The Gambia starting in 2013. This model has been the template for our sustainable vision center programming around the world.
For millions of people throughout the continent, eye care is out of reach financially and physically, due to distance or lack of personnel. OneSight is working to change that by implementing permanent vision centers in at-need communities throughout Africa. So far, we’ve opened centers in Liberia, Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia, and The Gambia.
