1 in 7 can’t see clearly.

Let’s change that, together.

Clear Sight Looks Good on You.

Your Voice + Our Vision = A Better World

As an influencer, you have power. The power to change minds and hearts. Linking that power to a cause can make a world of difference for you, your followers, and the people in need that you’re helping.

We’re in the change business too. OneSight has been changing lives, communities and hearts for good for more than 30 years. We help make it possible for people to get glasses. That may not sound like a big deal, but the New York Times called it ‘the biggest health crisis you’ve never heard of’. 1 in 7 people around the world can’t get a pair of glasses, no matter how badly they need them. That’s 1.1 billion people.

People like Nampun, whose parents thought she was learning disabled. Turns out she just needed a pair of glasses.

Or Charo, who couldn’t see well enough to make her meals. Getting a pair of glasses brought back some of her independence.

Or Matt, who was so shy he would barely speak. He’s coming out of his shell thanks to—you guessed it—glasses.

The good news is, this is a solvable problem. But it isn’t one we can solve alone.

Why Champion a Cause?

Incorporating a cause into your work can broaden, deepen and strengthen your connection to your audience. And even create opportunities for new followers. Simply put:

It builds your brand. What do you stand for? What are your values? How are they reflected in your work? A cause can help make that clearer for your audiences.

It diversifies your content stream. Perhaps you’re looking for new types of content to explore? How about sharing your experience helping people see clearly for the first time? Or raising awareness of the fact that 1 in 4 school-aged kids has an undiagnosed vision correction need?

It can even create a legacy. One of the hallmarks of our work is that we want to end the problem of lack of access to vision care. Imagine helping to get a permanent vision center off the ground to serve a whole community in need for decades to come? That’s real change, and you can help make it happen.

Why OneSight?

A good question. Ultimately, the question of a good fit comes down to you, your brand, and your community. Here are a few reasons to give us a look:

You want to help solve a world problem. Lack of access to vision care is not something we have to just accept. There are ways to solve it for good, and more than 35 million people around the world now have a way to get a pair of glasses when and where they need them. And that’s just since 2013.

You want to champion an ‘underdog’ cause. Lack of access to glasses is just not something that most people think about. But once they do, it’s eye-opening. You can be part of raising awareness of an issue most people aren’t aware of yet.

You understand the power of sight. Chances are no matter what you’re into, clear sight plays a role. Music, art, travel, politics, education, food, exercise—you name it and there’s probably a link between your area of expertise and what we do.

You decide your level of involvement. We’re flexible. From sharing posts on social media, to attending a vision clinic, to fundraising, it’s up to you.

How to Get Involved

We have a lot going on, here are just a few things to consider.

September 20 – October 8

Help kids and communities recover from COVID-19 by being part of our Stronger Kids, Stronger Communities program, including the Sweat for Sight fitness challenge.

October 8

Celebrate World Sight Day with us. This year, we’re partnering with two other vision nonprofits to promote ‘Through the Looking Glasses’, a book of children’s stories about the power of seeing clearly. We’re asking our friends to share their favorite book quote and help spread the word about the book and World Sight Day.

Anytime

Lend your voice—help us spread awareness of the vision care gap; you can start with something as simple as pointing your audience to our free Online Vision Check tool which helps kids and adults alike find out if they may have trouble seeing.

Be a champion—if you have a group of people or a place that’s near and dear to your heart but also lacks access to vision care, you can be a part of closing the gap through our Legacy Leaders Program.
