Meet Ameer, a seven year old boy living in the Al Mafraq region of Jordan. His father describes him as very intelligent with a wonderful sense of humor, mentioning his love for telling jokes and his ability to swim very well. When he arrived at our recent OneSight Jordan clinic, he was wearing a pair of glasses that have been broken for the past five months. Without glasses, Ameer has trouble seeing far distances, making it harder to do well in school. He also has a wandering eye that’s noticeable when his glasses are removed.

After his eye exam, Ameer was welcomed into the lab and stood on a stool as he watched his glasses being made. He left the clinic with new glasses and a smile that says more than words can on the impact that clear vision can have on a child. 

Ameer dreams of becoming a doctor when he grows up, and his new pair of glasses will make it easier for him to pursue that dream. Help children pursue their dreams with a donation of as little as $10 to purchase a pair of glasses.
