Big News: We’re Pod(cast) People Now

Podcasting first started in 2004 but didn’t become popular until nearly a decade later. A simple explanation for this is their convenience; podcasts are talk radio for your phone. With #InternationalPodcastDay taking place on September 30th, we are excited to share our recent forays into the world of podcasting!

The Global Good Podcast

Lack of vision care may be one of the most solvable health problems in the world, but the barriers to getting glasses are a lot more complex than meets the eye. Tune in as The Global Good Podcast travels to Rwanda and speaks to OneSight’s own Vincent Tuzinde about the issues facing his country.

Eye on the Community Podcast

Executive Director and President of OneSight, K-T Overbey, was invited to join the Eye on the Community Podcast in discussing the importance of eye health in children’s development. 1 in 4 students in the US has an undiagnosed vision impairment need; that’s 25% of kids who are struggling to learn because they can’t see their textbooks or the blackboard clearly. This is an even bigger problem globally, with an estimated 1 in 3 students not having access to an eye exam.

The Nerdy Optometrist Podcast

We took a HUGE step forward in global vision care access! On July 23rd, 2021, the United Nations voted to adopt Resolution A/75/L108 which is designed to tackle preventable sight loss by 2030. Listen to Dr. Jamie Anderson (who has worked on 15 OneSight charitable vision clinics and supported several sustainable vision centers globally) as she discusses the importance of the United Nations resolution on vision with the Nerdy Optometrist Podcast.

Real Leaders Podcast

Listen as K-T Overbey (Executive Director and President of OneSight) discusses lack of access to vision care with Real Leaders PodcastLack of access to an eye exam and glasses is more than an inconvenience, it’s a matter of health equity. Clear sight has an impact on so many daily activities and can help people in every stage of life

Take a listen—and if you like what you hear, share it with your friends. It helps out these great podcasters and helps spread the word about why vision care matters.
