Patrick Mahomes’ Foundation (15 and the Mahomies) and Oakley Partner with OneSight to Provide Free Eye Exams and Glasses to More Than 100 Kids in Need in Kansas City
Kansas City, MO – Aug 24, 2021 – On Saturday, August 21, the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation and Oakley teamed up with OneSight, a leading global vision care nonprofit, to offer free eye exams and glasses to 103 children in the Kansas City area. The event was hosted at Kansas City’s GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and was part of a series of vision clinics that Oakley sponsored in 2021, with a variety of athletes around the country. Thanks to the Kansas City Chiefs the vision clinic featured special guests including the Kansas City Ambassadors (former players), cheerleaders, and the team’s mascot, KC Wolf.
The one-day charitable clinic, funded by a grant from 15 and the Mahomies, helped address unresolved vision care needs for kids throughout Kansas City who may otherwise lack access to eye exams and glasses. Leveraging OneSight’s proven clinic model and manufacturing capabilities, most participants in need of glasses received their newly prescribed, quality eyewear on-site.

According to a study by OneSight and Deloitte, there are more than 1 billion people globally who need glasses, but don’t have access to get them. Studies show that clear sight can dramatically impact learning, job performance and earning potential. Clear sight can help students learn up to twice as much in school and can help increase a worker’s productivity by 35 percent and enable them to earn 20 percent more.
