OneSight’s first clinic of 2021 will help hundreds of students and adults see clearly in Cincinnati, Ohio, our hometown and global headquarters. Anthem Foundation will be sponsoring the clinic events and will be supporting onsite with a number of volunteers as well to help change lives for good through vision care.
Anthem Foundation’s support will enable OneSight to deliver vision care in two phases from mid-February through March. During phase one of the Cincinnati charitable clinic program, will travel to several local organizations to serve patients over the span of two weeks. The program will primarily impact students at local schools and after school support programs. Vision care is a critical component of learning and will help these students be empowered to learn more and perform better in school.
Adults will also benefit from the care provided, including patients from Cincinnati’s refugee or resettled Hispanic communities, women working to break the cycle of poverty, and many others facing hunger, homelessness, and additional challenges. OneSight’s partners for phase one are Reading Community City School District, New Miami Local Schools, Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio, Su Casa, UpSpring, City Gospel Mission, Cincinnati Union Bethel, and Strategies to End Homelessness.
Through partnership with The Care Center, OneSight staff and volunteers will be able to impact even more adults and children in need during phase two. This second phase will kick off on March 22 with a screening event leading up to the full vision care clinic on March 24. Beyond the initial screening, patients will be given full eye exams and eye health checks. For those who need them, glasses will be provided so they can see clearly to learn better, work better, and live better.
We offer our greatest appreciation to Anthem Foundation for their sponsorship and our heartfelt thanks to these local organizations for their incredible partnership. We’ll be sharing lots of stories and behind the scenes moments from the clinic over the coming months, so stay tuned for more.
