Interpreters
Here Chantal Koh of Luxottica Singapore teaches the interpreter she worked with at the clinic on how to use an auto-refractor—which can be a little tricky. Empowerment really is best with a heaping side of laughter.
One thousand cheers for our interpreters at our first clinic along the Thai-Myanmar border region in October. They’re the real heroes. From learning English through IRC just weeks before the clinic to standing by our side and advocating for each patient like they were family, the 17 interpreters defined excellence and passion. What’s best is that at the end of the week, many asked to be trained on the equipment. So of course we were thrilled to do that.
